If your car window was smashed overnight, you are not alone.
The details are sketchy, but police said multiple car windows were broken in the 17th and 19th police districts, early Thursday morning.
Several men, driving around in a black van, were seen smashing random car windows in various North Side and Northwest Side neighborhoods.
A witness said the men were filming themselves vandalizing people’s property.
Police estimate more than 20 cars may have been damaged.
At one point during the investigation, police stopped a van on the 3900 block of North Keeler Avenue, but it's unclear if any arrest were made.
If you have any information on this crime, please contact the police.

What a bunch of a-holes! Probably just jealous that they don't have transportation..oh wait, they have the Redline.
ReplyDeleteHow is it possible that 20 cars can have their windshield smashed, with ALL the noise that makes, and the cops didn't catch anyone? People don't hear this stuff? What the hell are they taking to help them sleep?????
Towanda, I don't know how many punks were involved, but one of them stay in the van and acted as the getaway driver; at least one of them did the smashing; while another suspect videotaped it.
ReplyDeleteSeveral witnesses saw the van speeding away from various locations and reported it to police.
