Windows smashed at North Side businesses, possible burglaries

Police are investigating separate acts of vandalism at two North Side Chicago businesses.

Around 5:18 a.m., a 911 caller reported a broken window at 4866 North Clark Street. The address belongs to a business called Rana Home Goodies Convenience Store, which is located across the street from St. Boniface Cemetery.

The 911 caller wasn’t sure if someone was still inside the store, but the concerned citizen said the entire front window was mashed.

Someone threw a huge “stone” through the window, said an officer at the scene.

It’s unclear if the business was burglarized.

Police made contact with the owner around 5:54 a.m.

At 6:57 a.m., someone reported a broken window at a business near the intersection of Clark and Foster.

According to police dispatch reports, a window was shattered at 1510 West Foster Avenue.

I searched Chicago's business license directory and couldn't find a business at that address. However, I was told there is a Middle Eastern bakery and grocery store at that location.

No arrests have been made in either case.

Police are investigating.

  1. Probably the same ghetto thugs that smashed 20 car windows just prowling around looking for trouble. Seems that's their "MO"...prowling around looking for prey.
