Off-duty cop attacked by gang in Humboldt Park

An off-duty police officer was reportedly attacked by a group of thugs on Chicago’s Northwest Side.

At 9:34 p.m., a 10-1 call (an urgent call for back up) was announced over the police radio.

Officers approaching the intersection of North California and West Haddon Avenues in Humboldt Park, were told an off-duty officer was being assaulted by five or six “Spanish Cobra” gang members.

Responding officers were also informed that the off-duty cop was armed with a gun.

At 9:34 p.m., police dispatch announced that there were enough police on the scene, and cautioned any further responding officers to slow down.

At 9:44 p.m., police were warned that a citizen was videotaping whatever was going on at the alleged crime scene.

  1. So they knew this cop was a cop? Is the cop black? If so, it seems it might be a race thing in Humboldt Park. Seems I've heard about a couple other blacks being targeted there. Was this just a random attack or was it because he was a cop and they knew it?
People are so way out of control lately. WTF is going on???
