Police are investigating an early morning shooting in Chicago’s Portage Park Community.
Police said the shooting occurred around 5 a.m. near the intersection of West Lawrence and North Long Avenues.
Another source indicated the incident may have happened closer to Lawrence and Milwaukee Avenues.
The male victim, who was shot in the leg, had just left a party at a friend's house, when he was struck by gunfire.
After the shooting, a friend took the injured man to a local hospital.
The shooting victim’s condition was not disclosed. However, at the time of this report, he was alert and able to speak with investigators.
Authorities are following several leads.
UPDATE: At 7:54 a.m., police located a crime scene at 5349 West Lawrence Avenue.
