Early Saturday morning, police were investigating an apparent accidental fall on Chicago’s North Side.
At 2:40 a.m., a man on a third floor balcony, on the 1100 block of West Belmont Avenue in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood, fell to the ground below, said police.
Alcohol may have been involved, said authorities.
According to an officer at the scene, the injured man was "barely breathing" and "blood was coming from the back of his head".
An ambulance was rushed to the scene.
According to police dispatch, the man was taken to Illinois Masonic Hospital.
