Cops bust men in possible sex act in Lincoln Park restroom

After being alerted to suspicious activity in a restroom at a North Side Chicago Park, a female police officer called her male partners for back up.

The incident was reported around 7:30 p.m. at a public restroom at the Diversey Driving Range, 141 West Diversey Parkway.

The female officer at the scene, who had been asked to remove several men from the public washroom, said she didn’t want to “embarrass” anyone and asked her male partners to assist her.

Because of the guarded language being used by the officer and police dispatch, it appeared the incident was possibly related to sex.

According to a gay sex cruising website, the Lincoln Park restroom at the Diversey Driving Range, has quite a reputation.

It’s unclear if any arrests were made.

  4. It's not ALL gay men, just the "low down" ones. Oh and Anonymous, tell me you haven't EVER had sex in a park? How about a parked car? What about the beach? I haven't but than they'd think it was a beached whale:) and call animal control..LOL

  5. Straight people have sex in public places, all the time. What those men were allegedly doing in that restroom is not a "gay thing" -- it's a human thing.

  6. So ANONYMOUS@ 10:05 PM...no response to the questions huh? Figures! Come on here and make a comment like that and than keep quiet when someone asks YOU a question. Guess I got my answer!

    Timothy, you're absolutely right.."it's a human thing"

  7. Towanda, I think our logical responses frightened the anonymous commenter away. Nothing frightens an idiot more than logic. :-)

  8. I stopped going to the Harold Washington library because of men screwing loudly in the bathroom. Among other things. The security guards are so gungho because of the increased homeless presence you can't even use the fu**ing facility as it was meant to anymore.

  9. You guys had something going on here with this site - telling it like it is - BUT, once again Towanda, you contradict yourself. Telling them to "get a room" then defending their actions down below.

It's wrong. They should be busted and DO give us all a bad name.

I remember when my a/c blew in one of Chicago's hottest August nights. First instinct? Go to the lake to cool off at 9:30 p.m. I lived in Edgewater at the time.

A guy approached me, obviously gay, we talked. I noticed the guys getting b.j.'s in the bushes up there at the same time. I was ignorant but not from here either.

You're right on one point - "take it home". You're wrong on the other - "it's a human thing" (having sex out in public).

The unchecked "liberalism" in Chicago needs to be put in check. The cops did the right thing.

Signed, Gay (but not Chicago gay)

  10. ....and Timothy, your responses are not "logical". You're now placing yourselves in the line of absolute fools.

  11. Gay (but not Chicago gay), my point was that gay people are not the only people who have sex in public. My comments didn't address whether or not sex in public is right or wrong.

Sex IS a human thing, and sex in public is NOT a gay thing. Trust me.

I was born and raised in Chicago and I have spent a lot of time playing with my nephews and nieces, riding my bikes, walking my dogs, and flying my kites in public parks. I have seen TONS of straight people getting it on in broad day light, in plain view, where anyone could see them.

Do I think people, regardless of their sexual orientation, should have sex in public? No. In my opinion, that's what bedrooms are for.

I wasn't defending sex in public places, I was responding to "Anonymous said...

Implying that only gay men have sex in public places..and the "beached whale" remark was a joke...seems you need a sense of humor.
Now where was it that I DEFENDED sex in public?

  13. who the would want to have sex in a bathroom? i know theres hotels in that area. jeez.

  14. I've never seen humans having sex in public other than gay ones here in Chicago. Again, you guys had some creditibility here but you're digging your hole by the minute. Nothing funny about gays being stereotypically CHICAGO GAY that give us all a bad name.

Your response begs the question then, Towaandaa. Why are there no arrests of "straight people" having sex in public places vs. the abundance of gay people? Give this gay man some proof.

You're both obviously Whitey Houston fans. "It's not right, but it's o.k.".

  15. Anonymous..Darling..How about all the prostitutes arrested for sex in public??? That would be BOTH gay & straight.

Anyhow, I agree with you. I think it's completely disgusting for ANYONE to have sex in public and gay men need to GET A ROOM:)

I USED to be a Whitney fan...

  16. Why aren't there any do-gooders advocating "People can have sex any place, any time they want!" ? :)

  17. I've actually ONLY seen straight people having sex in public. I've seen gay guys that are obviously cruising, or stop what they're doing and try to act natural when someone approaches, but straight guys having sex with girls in the bushes or on lakefront rocks just keep going unless you're wearing a uniform. Exhibitionism and gay don't always go together.
