Car crash: Man dies, multiple injuries at North Ave. and Laramie

A serious car accident was reported on Chicago’s West Side, late Sunday evening.

The incident occurred around 10:25 p.m. at the intersection of West North and North Laramie Avenues. That's approximately 5200 West North Avenue in the Austin neighborhood.

One source said there were “people strewn about” the scene; which means people were either thrown from their victims, or several pedestrians were hit.

At least four ambulances were called to the treat the wounded.

Investigators said the incident started at 4320 West North Avenue, but didn't give any details. At the time of this report, police officers were stationed at a crime scene at North Avenue and Latrobe.

The cause of the crash is unclear.

All traffic in the area of North Avenue and Laramie was temporarily diverted.

Early Monday morning, officials confirmed that one man died as a result of the West Side traffic accident. Apparently, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

  4. Was this a police chase?
Don't hold your breath on anybody "maning up" about anything. You can take the punk out of the ghetto but not the ghetto out of the punk. If this person died because of criminals running from the cops, they should be charged with murder..period! A car in the wrong hands is just as bad as a gun..both are weapons in the wrong hands of destruction in the wrong hands.

  7. I heard the whole thing on my police scanner. The cop said " I just seen a car (Lincoln) trying to ram another car".... After a couple of seconds the cop said " I'm going to attempt to pull him over", after several more seconds the cop said "wow...he's flying, he's already by Laramie". Then the cop said " send me 4 ambulances, we have the driver of the Lincoln D.O.A, and others are hurt. This all happen in a matter of 20-30 seconds. Hope you could follow. My condolences to all involved.

The killings will stop, when murderers and rapists are executed/killed by the state and/or community residents.

Sociology 101 and Psychology 101 Excuses must end now! It's time for accountability and responsibility! :)
