Blackout: North Side Chicago power outages

The 911 call center has been swamped with calls reporting power outages on Chicago’s North Side.

So far, it appears the loss of power is concentrated in the Uptown, Edgewater, and Rogers Park neighborhoods.

According to police dispatch reports, as a result of the blackout, people were trapped in an elevator at 1055 West Granville, around 9:44 p.m.

A man in a wheelchair on the 5800 block of North Kenmore reported all the lights were out in his building.

ComEd has been notified.
