Man Robbed at Gunpoint in Logan Square

Police are searching for an armed robber who mugged a man in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood.

The robbery happened around 8:15 p.m. near the intersection of West Schubert Avenue and North Troy Street; which places the crime scene in the vicinity of 2642 North Troy.

The victim was accosted by an African-American man wearing all black, baggy clothing.

According to police, the offender stole the complainant’s wallet.

No further details are available.

  1. the amount of muggings in this immediate area north of Logan / east of kedzie / west of sacramento since the new year has been alarming. I'd advise readers who live there to exercise caution when walking at night. take out the ipod, put away the phone and just be aware of your surroundings. it may not prevent a mugging altogether, but it will at least make you look like less of a potential victim.

  2. Colin, have to agree with you there. MAYBE if these ghetto thugs don't see an IPad, IPhone, IPod or any other high tech item, you might get a pass.

  3. .....but Chicago has a "gun ban". I'm rather perplexed as to how these armed robberies "at gunpoint" are happening here.
