Angry CTA passengers demanded a supervisor after several CTA buses were rerouted; apparently without notice.
CTA passengers waiting for the northbound No. 156 LaSalle, No. 135 Clarendon/LaSalle Express, and the No. 134 Stockton/LaSalle Express buses, grew impatient after waiting in the frigid temperatures and getting little information from a police officer at the scene.
Several streets were blocked while the city attempted to remove snow from the roads, said police.
I checked CTA's website for updates. I was unable to locate any CTA alerts regarding the street closures due to snow removal.

That's the thing about the CTA, they don't give a rats ass about their customers. Ask any driver a question about what might be going on and they don't have a clue. If this were a "store" and customers were treated this way, the "employee" would get a write up or fired. They take our money and forget about us, act like they hate their jobs most of the time and Oh, if there's a problem like on the redline, which was reported here, don't count on the engineer to help out..they'll get the hell out of dodge and save their own ass before they'll help. I think the CTA NEEDS a total housecleaning from top to bottom. Pathetic!
ReplyDeleteI have experience this sort of thing firsthand! Way too many times! Standing and waiting for a bus that never comes, because it's been rerouted
ReplyDeleteand CTA didn't bother to inform their customers!
Notice of CTA Bus Re-routes depends on the event. If the event is street cleaning or sewer maintenance on a certain day/week, then notice is given via bus rider alerts (on the street and bus) and CTA's website.
ReplyDeleteIf the event is unpredictable, such as a fire, blizzard condition, flood, etc., then some notice might be posted on the website. If one is already on or awaiting a bus, no notice is given, unless a street supervisor is near by.
