A woman about to start her shift at a Lakeview business, was robbed  by three thieves.

At 5:50 a.m., an employee opening a dry cleaners on the 2800 block of North Broadway, near the intersection of Broadway and Diversey Parkway, was robbed at gunpoint, said police.

Police dispatch didn't give the exact address, but the closest dry cleaners to that location is CD One Price Cleaners at 2815 North Broadway.

Three African-American men, one of them armed with a silver handgun, stole the woman’s iPod and a brown purse containing $60.00.

One of the muggers was wearing a white jacket with black markings on it.

After the robbery, the thieves fled the scene northbound on Broadway.

Authorities said the theft occurred outside the cleaners.

  1. My partner was pick-pocketed at the Borders right near there. There are a lot of unsavory people roaming that area in the last few years. Way too many that obviously don't belong there. Don't you just love how integrating the people from the projects into all neighborhoods has worked? "Wherever you go, there you are"!
