A woman, apparently returning home after grocery shopping, became the latest victim of Chicago’s rash of armed robberies.
Around 9 p.m., the victim was in the area of 1000 North Honore Street, near the intersection of Honore and Augusta Boulevard, when two African-American men brandished an unknown weapon and stole the female victim’s groceries, credit cards, and ID.
Police dispatch said the groceries were in a large red backpack, or a large red bag.
According to a witness, the armed offenders may have fled the scene in a newer model silver car.
The vehicle was washed recently, because there was no salt residue on the car, said police.
