Police Arrest Masked Gunman After Robbery on CTA Blue Line

Around 12:04 a.m., a CTA passenger was robbed at gunpoint on the Blue Line. The robbery occurred at the CTA Jackson/Van Buren subway station at 328 South Dearborn Street.

The robber was described as an African-American man wearing a black mask, a blue checkered shirt, jeans, and a brown hat.

After fleeing the scene, the offender tried to confuse police by changing his clothes and donning a black sweater and hooded sweatshirt. His attempt failed.

At 12:16 a.m., police arrested the suspect at 219 South Dearborn Street.

Two thumbs up for the CPD!

  1. RIGHT ON CPD! See, there's a classic example of a different description and WHY criminals wear ALL black, they can ditch their "BLACK" clothes and put something else on..except their expensive nike shoes. It amazes me that in this day & age, with the type of cell phones people have, that more cell phone cameras are not being used to help deter crime. What, people only have these expensive trumped up techy cell phone to text??? People start whipping those phone out and help the CPD.

  2. towanda, I'm shocked that more of these crimes aren't documented by cell phone users, too. People seem to video and takes pictures of everything else.
