A woman on Chicago’s Near West Side was robbed and her attacker threatened to blind her with her own mace.
The incident was reported at 10:01 p.m. and occurred near the intersection of West Washington and North Oakley Boulevards.
According to the victim, a 16-year-old African-American man with a dark complexion robbed her, went through her pockets, took her mace and threatened to mace her with it.
The suspect was last seen wearing a black skull cap, a black jacket, blue jeans, and black shoes.
If I get more information, I will update this article accordingly.

See, IF parents also were held responsible for their underage kids, they'd be doing some time or get a huge fine or community service IF and WHEN they catch this punk.
ReplyDeleteHere's a hint...the mace does no good in your pocket when you're being attacked. You're suppose to use it. What's the point of carrying it in your pocket if you're not going to use it? Ya have to be prepared. Did this punk have a weapon?
There was no mention of a weapon. And feel so sorry for that woman. I can only imagine how terrified she was.
ReplyDeleteBut you are right... if you are going carry mace, it needs to be in your hand, not in your pocket. Once a suspect has invaded your personal space, your chances of retrieving a weapon and defending yourself diminish.
Timothy, are you hearing anything going on in Edgewater? There have been a lot of sirens all night and they're not all ambulances. It's just out of the ordinary.
ReplyDeleteI always have my finger on the trigger if someone suspicious is coming around me...so far, I've been wrong but better safe than sorry. I think these punk scumbags are such cowards to attack women. Obviously they have NEVER been taught RESPECT for anyone, let alone women.
Actually, I have heard something... not enough to print, but here it is:
ReplyDelete15 minutes ago, someone reported a group of gang bangers called the "Thorndale Boys" causing trouble near a business on Thorndale. Dispatch never named the business or the exact location.
A few minutes ago, an arrest was made near Sheridan and Thorndale. There was a lot of yelling back and forth on the scanner. At one point, it appeared a female officer may have been injured, but subsequent reports indicate she is okay and unharmed.
I'm aware of the "Thorndale Boys" and they are a group of dealer bangers who cause trouble around some of the condo's on Kenmore & Thorndale because the residents call it in EVERY time they are around that corner. I knew it..I knew I shouldn't have said crime is down here. It's about 12 degrees out, I guess we all thought it would be down in the winter..because their coats are too puffy to get to a weapon fast enough. I hope everyone is all right, there are always a lot of people walking their dogs around there too. At this rate, they won't be sending our police to the high crime areas. Thanks for giving me a heads up Timothy;)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome. I wanted to print an article about it, but there weren't enough details.
