Joan Rivers Calls Michelle Obama Blackie-O; Funny or Racist?
Joan Rivers, the Diva of comedy, said she removed a joke from act, because she thought people would call her racist.
Rivers told Howard Stern she was planning to say, "We used to have Jackie O now we have Blackie O," but changed her mind. Stern's sidekick, Robin Quivers, said the joke is insulting.

First of all, she should sue whoever did her face lift..
ReplyDeleteThis comment, while I doubt was meant to be a racist remark by Joan, is NOT funny. Saying that about a First Lady is just out of line and a disgrace. However, many Black entertainers use very racist remarks in their acts, some here about it, most don't. Maybe it's time Joan fade into the sunset:)
If an African-American female comic made the same comment, would not even be a story.
ReplyDeletei thought it was funny and i'm black
ReplyDeleteIn college, Michelle Lavaugh Robinson was militant. Perhaps, Blackie-O is a tribute to Michelle's former self. :)
ReplyDeleteLavaughn = Lavaugh :)
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, you have a poor sense of humor...
ReplyDeleteThat's what's wrong with America everyone is too damned pc! It was a joke! It was funny! Get over it!
ReplyDeleteblackie o was definitely a compliment. unless you peeps think being black is an insult.
ReplyDeleteMichelle'y-o-would have been a better synonym...Blackie has been used as a insult in the past...so ofcourse some would take offense. But to take offense of something she didnt do....borderline. We just need to choose our battles wisely. They are always lookin for something to say "See...look how their acting"
ReplyDeleteWe need to get our house straight 1st.
