'Elderly Man' Beaten, Robbed in West Town Neighborhood

A robbery victim, described as an “elderly man”, was beaten and robbed in Chicago’s West Town neighborhood. The incident was reported at 1:14 a.m.

According to a 911 caller, the robbery victim was unconscious and lying on the street near the intersection of North Wood and West Erie Streets; which is approximately 1800 West on Erie and 600 North on Wood.

The suspects were described as three Hispanic men in all black clothing. After the assault and robbery, the offenders jumped into a black Lincoln Continental and fled northbound on Wood Street, then eastbound on Huron Street.

  1. OK, there's 2 things that REALLY, REALLY piss me off and that's the elderly getting beat, shot or mugged and women getting beat, shot or mugged. These asshole thugs NEED to be caught and punishment should be that they have to care for the elderly for the rest of their lives with NO pay! I'm curious though, what was an "elderly" man doing out at 1:14am or was it pm? Not that it really matters because we are still a FREE country but still..
    Notice people that they ALL wear BLACK so it's hard to find the criminals. Look for another marking or a different description. Almost all the descriptions say "Black" clothes. They do that for a reason.

  2. The crime occurred during the wee hours of the morning. I have no idea what the victim was doing when he was attacked. He might have been checking his mailbox, getting in or out of his car, who knows?

    I'm wondering if this man was targeted. I have a feeling this was not a random crime.
