On January 6, 2011, around 11:25 p.m., a woman at an Edgewater apartment building dialed 911 after her boyfriend allegedly assaulted her.
The woman said her boyfriend “slammed her against the wall”.
This incident took place at 1111 West Hollywood Avenue on Chicago’s north side. It’s the same building where Henry Jones was stabbed to death, during a domestic dispute on January 1, 2011.
Regarding the incident on January 6th: If anyone was arrested or taken to the hospital - I never heard the announcement on my scanner.
Okay. What is going on in that apartment building?

At one point, Everyblock.com had a number of calls to that building last year and I wondered that myself. Than it was quiet, until now. Are these new tenants? Maybe there's something in the water there that makes people in that building get crazy..heck, I'm starting to think there's something in the water all over Chicago that makes people crazy. What other explanation is there for all this violence and crime? I look at other blogs as well, many that you list Timothy, as "favorite blogs" and it's everywhere. True, some areas way more than others but still, there is NO neighborhood safe anymore!
ReplyDeleteThis is my "favorite blog" though! I love the pictures that go along with the articles,I like that we can ALL comment, be it good or bad and I appreciate that you spend so much of your time keeping us informed and aware. Thank you!
I hope no one takes this the wrong way, but I was starting to wonder if 1111 West Hollywood had a lot of tenants from other parts of the world. It's no secret there are cultures where abuse against women is extremely prevalent.
ReplyDeletetowanda, I believe people should be able to voice their opinions. Obviously, I can't publish comments with racial epithets or comments that call for acts of violence, but other than that, I am interested in hearing what people have to say.
A lot of bloggers only publish comments they agree with, and that's their choice. But how can you have a real discussion that way?
towanda, I started this blog because I really want people to be aware of what's going on around them. I also started my blog because I got sick of reading the same damn stories on every news website.
And you're welcome. towanda. I appreciate the fact that you appreciate what I'm trying to do here.
