The shooting occurred January 12, 2011, around 6:30 p.m., at a CTA bus stop on the 600 block of East 63rd Street.
Gregory was standing at the bus stop waiting for a number 63 bus when a masked gunman exited a dark-colored vehicle and shot the teen several times.
Paramedics found the teenager dead at the scene.
No arrests have been made.
NOTE: CBS News listed the victim as Shonelle Gregory. According to my sources the boy's first name is Shondale - not Shonelle.
CBS also said the shooting occurred at a westbound CTA bus shelter on the 500 block of East 63rd Street. Based on information provided by reliable sources, the shooting happened at a westbound bus shelter on the 600 block of East 63rd Street - not the 500 block as stated by CBS.
This is sad and pathetic. This gang shit has to stop! The CPD KNOWS who these gang members are and WHERE they live, WHY aren't they raiding these ghetto thugs? Why aren't they confiscating their weapons and drugs? WHY? WHY? WHY? Each day that the CPD doesn't start taking down these ghetto thugs is another day membership grows. Take them out!

The stretch of 63rd street where Gregory was shot has been a wasteland since the 80's. No new construction. No new businesses. Just vacant lots and boarded up storefronts.
These groups only protect the black people when their civil rights have been violated. who protects us against them? I'm sorry, but I have the RIGHT to have protection from these ghetto thugs and any other thugs out there. I have the right to feel safe when I'm out and I certainly have the right to protect myself against these people BUT..they scream louder about their civil rights being trampled. What rights do they have when this city has a gun law and they're armed to the teeth? What rights do they have to have drugs when we have possession laws? I don't see how their civil rights are violated when they are breaking laws and the cops know it. When the cops set up a sting to catch drunk drivers, are they violating civil rights laws then? If the cops know where these bangers live, why don't they get a warrant and bust them? What are they waiting for? The more busts they make, the fewer gang bangers are out there dealing and armed to the teeth. Makes sense to me.

ReplyDeleteI agree how it is the officials that are letting us down. I have a 17yr old and I have been having problems with him since he was young. I have begged for help with him from everywhere. No one seems to be able to direct me to anywhere but jail. They all tell me well if you press charges on him then we can help u get help for him. I asked what kind of help. They told me programs for after-school, taking them to the mall movies and things like that. Then my question was, where is the programs for the parents who want more for there children. Basically they told me there are none.

Talk to your child's counselor, current teachers and previous teachers, to find out more about your child's talents/abilities. Have you seen the Jobs Corp television commercials? What about homework?
