Street Brawl in Washington Park Neighborhood Leaves Man Badly Injured

A man was severely wounded during a fight on the 5300 block of South King Drive, in Chicago’s Washington Park neighborhood.

The incident occurred around 12:18 a.m.

According to police, the battery victim was hit in the face with a bottle and was lying in the middle of the street, unconscious. He was taken to Stroger Hospital for medical treatment.

Police also responded to a three-car accident at the same location - around the same time. It’s unclear if the car accident precipitated the violent confrontation.
