Bomb Scare on CTA Blue Line; Suspicious Person at North Side Synagogue

On October 31, 2010, around  9:44 p.m., police were informed of a suspicious package in the Clark and Lake, Blue Line subway station.

CBS Chicago described the questionable package as a brief case.

Our crime logs indicate that a “silver suitcase” was reportedly left at the station.

An investigation conducted by the Chicago Police Bomb and Arson Unit determined that the suitcase or brief case, was empty.

A “suspicious person” call was made to 911 after man was spotted loitering near a north side Synagogue. The incident happened late, last night, around 11:42 p.m., at the Temple Sholom of Chicago, 3480 N. Lake Shore Drive.

The 911 caller said a man, described as Hispanic or Middle Eastern, parked his car on the 3500 block of North Lake Shore Drive and approached the synagogue. According to the caller, the man kept walking back and forth, between his car and the temple.

The man’s license plate information was given to police.
