Woman Robbed at Knifepoint in Ravenswood, Thief Caught in Uptown

Shortly after midnight, a woman was robbed near the corner of West Winnona Street and North Winchester Ave., in Chicago’s Ravenswood neighborhood.
The woman was approached by 3 suspects: a black male on a bike, a black female, and a Hispanic female. The male suspect pulled a knife, snatched the woman’s purse, and took off on his bike - leaving the scene with the victim’s Coach purse, containing $100.
At 12:22 a.m., police stopped a male suspect, matching the Ravenswood offender’s description at 4656 N. Broadway, in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood.
Police took the victim to the Uptown address to identify the possible assailant.
At 12:35 a.m., police announced that the suspect apprehended on the 4600 block of North Broadway, was the same man who robbed the woman in Ravenswood.
No information on the female offenders’ arrest or whereabouts was available.
