Steps away from Loyola University Chicago (1032 W. Sheridan Road), a deadly shooting took place in Chicago's Edgewater neighborhood.
Shortly after 3 p.m., a man shot a woman on the 6200 block of North Sheridan Rd., and then shot himself. Police are calling the incident a possible murder-suicide.
The shooting took place near the intersection of North Sheridan Rd. and West Granville Ave.
A witness said she saw the couple walking eastbound, toward Lake Michigan, when the man pulled out a gun and shot the woman. Multiple shots were fired. Some of them were fired while the female victim was lying on the ground. Reportedly, the shooter showed absolutely no emotion... then turned the gun on himself.
Both shooting victims were pronounced dead at Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston.
