Last night, when I read that 14-month-old Dontrell Johnson was missing, and that his father, who was in police custody, was refusing to tell them where Dontrell was... my heart and my stomach sank.
Police say on October 4, 2010, the toddler was kidnapped by his father, who threatened to hurt him. On Wednesday, Oct. 6th, the father was arrested and refused to tell authorities where the little boy was. Which, in my opinion, was a clear indication that the boy's father didn't give a damn about his welfare.
Today, around 2 p.m., 14-month old Dontrell Johnson's lifeless body was pulled from Lake Michigan after a boater spotted him floating in the water, behind the Museum of Science and Industry. Dontrell was taken to Comer Children's Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
