This morning, around 4:18 a.m., we were made aware of a horrific car accident on the Kennedy Expressway. According to the 911 caller, there was a woman’s body on the shoulder of the road near the northbound lanes, close to North Ave.
The caller assumed the woman had been struck by car.
Thanks to NBC Chicago and WLS-AM, we have more details.
The 21-year-old woman, whose name has not been released to the press, was thrown from her vehicle, when her car slammed into a cement retaining wall. With the engine still running, the unoccupied vehicle raced across the northbound lanes, striking a second retaining wall, and another car.
According to WLS-AM , the woman’s body was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 4:42 a.m.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.

ReplyDeleteGod do we miss you Meg. I thought I was crazy for feeling you with me all the time, but I've heard everyone say the same thing. It's been two years since that horrific Halloween and not a day goes by that I don't feel that gaping hole in my chest. Picturing your smile and having your laugh in my head are what get me through. It's the absolute joy of your spirit that we can all feel. Thank you for everything, my angel.
