Gang Fight With Bricks and Bottles, Damages Police Car
A gang fight erupted on the 5500 block of South Wolcott around 8:10 p.m., this evening. The brawl started on 53rd and Wolcott and quickly spread south.
Reportedly, there was a large group of teenagers between the ages of 13 to 18-years-old, fighting with bricks and bottles in the street. An officer in the area, on an unrelated call, confirmed the event and called for back up.
During the melee, a police car was hit with a cinder block. The extent of the damage to the police car is unknown.
At the time of my report, at least one person had been arrested. No juries were reported.
