A CTA bus was hit from behind near 66th and Racine on Chicago’s south side.
The southbound, No. 44 Wallace-Racine bus, was struck around 12:33 p.m., this afternoon. The other vehicle involved in the collision was a 1993, Buick Park Avenue.
According to a Chicago police officer on the scene, there were 20 people on the bus at the time of the accident. No serious injuries were reported; mostly complaints of neck and back pains.
When asked if anyone was seriously hurt, one officer said, “No. They (the passengers) think they struck a pot of gold.”
At the time of my report, 6 ambulances were on the scene.
