Armed robbery in Boystown

Early Sunday morning, police were looking for a suspect who robbed a man at gunpoint in Chicago's East Lakeview, Boystown neighborhood.

According to authorities, the robbery occurred around 2:10 a.m. in the middle of the 500 block of West Roscoe Street, between Broadway and North Lake Shore Drive.

A black male with shoulder-length dreadlocks brandished a gun and robbed a male victim, said police.

The thief, who is approximately 6-feet tall and 160 pounds, was wearing a black t-shirt and black jeans.

Investigators believe the mugger may have been in the company of a white male.

Sources say the armed robber fled the scene in a dark green, Volkswagen SUV.

The alleged getaway car was last seen going northbound on Broadway from Roscoe.

If you have any additional information regarding this crime, please contact the police, immediately.

  1. I'll bet the victim was one of those Iowa twerps in red skinny jeans always wearing a hoodie pulled over his bad hair in support of Trayvon. (Doesn't work obviously).
