Roommate stabs man in Lakeview, says cops

A male victim was stabbed in a North Side Lakeview neighborhood apartment building, said police.

The stabbing, which was reported around 9:35 p.m., occurred in a second floor unit at 707 West Sheridan Road, near Sheridan and Pine Grove.

An investigating officer said the victim told the paramedics that his roommate stabbed him.

Citing police dispatch reports, the victim was transported to Advocate Illinois Masonic Hospital in serious condition.

According to sources, the victim was stabbed twice in the chest.

Police took the alleged offender into custody at 9:54 p.m.

UPDATE: As of 10:17 p.m., the victim was listed in stable condition.
