Report: Attempted robbery near Rogers Park police station

A male victim was nearly mugged on the city’s North Side… and the incident happened a few blocks away from a Rogers Park neighborhood police station.

At approximately 9:45 p.m., a 911 caller reported a man calling for help on the 1500 block of West Arthur Avenue, between Bosworth and Greenview.

The location is about four blocks east of the 24th District Chicago Police Station, 6464 North Clark Street.

When officers arrived in the area, the victim had left the scene.

A few minutes later, the victim telephoned authorities from his Rogers Park apartment.

Citing police dispatch reports, the complainant was approached by two black males; one of them was wearing a black letterman jacket with white sleeves, and a red hat.

After the attempted robbery, the would-be robbers ran through an alley near Bosworth and Arthur, said police.

As of 11:25 p.m., no arrest had been made.

  1. Why must you mention the race of the offenders? Why can't you be like the Chicago Tribune and say "young men" or "two men robbed...." ? Thanks though for telling it like it is. Providing us with news that is unfiltered. Welcome back.
