Woman attacked, robbed in DePaul campus elevator

According to a police report obtained by Chicago News Report, a woman was attacked and robbed in an elevator at DePaul University's downtown campus.

The incident occurred August 28, 2012, around 4:20 p.m., inside the Daley Building at 14 East Jackson Boulevard, said officials.

Citing the official police report, the victim was on an elevator with 15 to 20 other people.

When most of the people got off, an unknown male offender, who was also on the elevator at time, shoved the victim into a corner.

When an eyewitness saw what was happening, the Good Samaritan pushed the offender and the victim was able to escape, said police.

After the strong arm robbery, the mugger stayed on the elevator and may have gotten off on one of the upper floors of the building.

The thief stole the victim's pink I-Phone, said police.

NOTE: The suspect's demographics, which includes his race, was removed from the police report.

  1. When you cant remove the race from the news coverage, I guess the next logical step is to remove it from the police reports?

  2. Why are the police and media so afraid to say the offender is black? Once again we have to treat black people with kid gloves.

  3. So I guess if the race isn't mentioned that means the criminal was black.

Also, if the criminal was white the story would be on the front page of the Sun Times, since it really would be 'news'.

  4. Go to Everyblock, even if you don't mention the perp you're complaining about is black, they will assume it, especially our porky friend Feebs the "RogersParker".

The other day she proudly walked around and never saw any bullcrap going down! She must have traveled to an alternate reality then, because this city is choked with hobos, panhandlers and FREAKS.
