At approximately 9:25 p.m., a woman was walking home on the 1400 block of West Byron Street, between Janssen and Greenview, when a mugger put a gun in her stomach and demanded her purse, said authorities.
The thief was described as a tall, black male, 25 to 30-years-old, with a thin build.
The suspect was wearing a white T-shirt and red plaid shorts.
Investigators said the robber stole a black leather purse containing the victim's cell phone, ID, and various credit cards.
According to an initial police dispatch report, the offender may have fled the scene in a white vehicle that was double-parked in the area.
If you have any information regarding this crime, please contact the police, immediately.

ReplyDeleteyet another incident that probably never would have happened if this state would pass conceal carry legislation. Illinois is the ONLY state without a provision for carry.
ReplyDeleteIt is a FACT that violent crime rates drop the instant such legislation is passed. That's why the other 49 states, including those that are more liberal/anti-gun has them.
Illionis wants us fearful becuase they want us dependant.
