Overnight, a disturbance was reported outside a fast food restaurant in Chicago's North Side Bucktown neighborhood.
According to several reliable sources, on Saturday, between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m., several carloads of unruly African Americans crowded the McDonald's parking lot at 1951 North Western Avenue, near Western and Milwaukee.
"30 punks, all black kids, took over the McDonald's at Western and Milwaukee. They were honking horns and fighting in the parking lot," said an eyewitness.
We were told after calling 911 several times, only one police car responded to the scene.
"One squad car showed up for the riot. Black kids were blowing off the officers... walking like they didn't care. Some of them even went inside the McDonald's," said a customer at the Bucktown neighborhood restaurant.
A tipster, who asked to remain anonymous, said the group came from the Congress Theater, 2135 North Milwaukee Avenue.
Last night, the venue hosted Superfest 2012... an event that was heavily attended by young African Americans.
At the time of this report, a spokesperson for the Congress Theater wasn't available for comment.

The police were all over the Congress Theater --- which had some sort of show that was packed. The smell of weed dominated the area.
ReplyDeleteI am sure the police had a good idea that this would happen in this location or the CVS parking lot on Milwaukee or someplace a little North, but it makes sense the would be moving south... closer to where they are all from.
CNR - you know better than to call this a "flash mob." You know what Flash mob's are, and you know what they're not. Report accurately, because by calling this a flash mob you're doing the same thing that most of the media in Chicago do, and that's diminish the chaos of gangs and the disorderly conduct of mass gatherings such as this by relating them to things that bored hipsters do - aka public pillow fights, standing frozen in one place for 5 minutes, etc.

ReplyDeleteI was recently in Atlanta, and the majority of blacks seemed well-dressed, polite, and spoke well. But for some reason in northern cities such as Chicago, the feral element is very large and the population has come to expect government handouts.

The kids were everywhere and doing some sort of Fight-Club-esque type of man fest in the parking lot. Sitting on top of their trunks screaming at one another. I happen to live in the neighborhood, and personally we deal with this shit all the time whenever the Congress hosts a large show related to any RAP or thug-style music.
I wound bet that there was an ape escape at the Lincoln Park zoo and the media didnt want to cover it. Illinois Link Card usage must have skyrocket that evening!
