Pepper spray incident at Downtown Old Navy; 2 arrested

Two people were arrested after an incident involving mace or pepper spray at a downtown, Chicago department store, said authorities.

Citing police dispatch reports, around 7:15 p.m., a female suspect was arrested at the Old Navy clothing store at 35 North State Street.

The circumstances surrounding the woman’s arrest weren’t immediately clear, but it appears the female suspect pepper sprayed several people inside The Loop department store.

A black male, identified as the woman’s boyfriend, was also arrested, said police.

The male suspect was taken into custody for harassing and threatening the store’s employees, said police.

According to police communications, the man was upset because his girlfriend was arrested.

Back in November 2011, a black female shoplifter was arrested for pepper spraying security guards at the same department store.

  1. It's too bad they didn't blast the preacher outside that place as well.

  3. It's always such a great experience shopping for basic essentials here in Chicago. The Timberland store has been "Coming Spring 2012" for over a year now. Spring is past, thought I'd give them a visit. Now it's still not open and it's "Coming Summer 2012". Macy's on State St. (which led me over this this sh*tfest) no longer carries Timberland.

Oh well, I did find a couple of other things I needed along there but not without indifferent quota clerks with a wad of bubble gum that you need a cattle prod for to get some help. I'm happy to help myself but your shoes in my size are in a stock room behind the counter. I try them and and he's no where to be found (chomp, chomp, smack, snap on bubble gum). Approach register to pay, he comes out from the back to-------fight with the clerk over "his sale". She asked "was he helping you?". I responded, "not really, I don't want to get involved in your crap, let's move". Then get hootched and hustled by 8 bums, 3 Greenpeace and 4 Save The Whales outside. Then the Red Line, oh the Red Line.

Really with all of this and the subject matter in this article, the sales tax......I just plan my shopping when I go out of state. Seriously. Amazon dot com is great too.

  5. I thought Old Navy was a "Kracker" store, like Eddie Bauer and J. Crew.

  7. Too bad this report is completely false and misleading. Gotta love the media. The girl was arrested for shoplifting and a friend of hers did the pepper spraying. The male that was arrested is some low life drug dealer that hangs around the school and seen that this girl was being arrested so he decided to start barking and then got loud with officers and threatened to fight them.

Sooooooo... Get your shit together and stop writing false and misleading information!!!!!!
