Englewood: Man robbed on West 59th Street

The fact that it's Sunday and the victim was standing in the shadow of a nearby church, didn’t stop thieves from robbing a man in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood.

At approximately 5:21 p.m., a man was robbed at gunpoint on the 1100 block of West 59th Street, on the city’s South Side, said police.

According to Google Maps, the incident happened steps away from New Greater Love Pentecostal at 1057 West 59th Street.

The offenders were described as two black males in their 30s.

One suspect is about 5’10”, 170 pounds, has a light complexion and braided hair. He was wearing a brown sweat suit and carrying a chrome handgun.

The second thief is approximately 5’7” and 190 pounds. He was wearing a white t-shirt and a baseball hat.

The robbers stole the victim’s ring, watch, and cash, said police.
