iPhone stolen, snatched at Hyde Park café

According to information provided by the University of Chicago Police Department, a man’s cell phone was stolen at a South Side, Hyde Park neighborhood café over Memorial Day weekend.

On Sunday, May 27, 2012, around 5:15 p.m., a victim’s cell phone was snatched from a café table near the 5700 block of South Lake Park Avenue and East 57th Street, said police.

The offender, and a second male believed to be an accomplice, jumped into car and fled the scene.

At the time of this report, no arrests had been made.

A few days prior to the iPhone theft, two male suspects were arrested in connection to a May 23, 2012, 12:15 a.m. robbery on the 5300 block of South Drexel Avenue.

Two males stole a man’s computer bag at gunpoint and jumped into an awaiting vehicle.

Police chased the offenders - arrested them - and covered the victim’s property.

  2. ^There's a store right at the Bryn Mawr stop that advertises "we unlock phones for $15". How convenient. That's GD dumb those "activists" and artists are (while they complain about the crime in their neighborhood after getting clobbered over the head).
