Around 5:30 p.m., Chicago police were investigating a pickpocketing at the Belmont Red, Brown, and Purple Lines station at 945 West Belmont Avenue.
According to police dispatch, a victim’s wallet containing a debit card, a driver’s license, and a Northwestern University Police ID, was stolen at the Lakeview neighborhood train station.
The offender was described as a male black in his 50s, about 5’11” to 6-feet-tall, with a slim build.
The suspect was wearing gray-colored clothing and a hat of an unspecified color, said police.
Initial police dispatch reports, released around the same time the incident at Belmont occurred, mentioned a pickpocketing at the Addison station, as well.
It’s unclear if both incidents are related.
