Singer Whitney Houston dead at 48

Singer Whitney Houston has died at the age of 48.

CNN, as well as other credible news sources, have confirmed the I Will Always Love You singer has died.

Houston's publicist, Kristen Foster, confirmed the diva's death, but so far, there is no definitive information regarding Houston's cause of death or where she died.

However, TMZ is reporting Houston died at a Beverly Hilton hotel in California.

A source close to the situation said singer Ray J., Brandy Norwood's younger brother, discovered Whitney Houston's body.

Ray J.'s publicist denies those allegations.

UPDATE: According to the LAPD, Houston's body was found around 3:55 p.m. on the 4th floor of the Beverly Hilton hotel, 9876 Wilshire Boulevard.

Someone in Houston's entourage notified authorities, said police detective, Mark Rosen.

At the time of this report, Houston's remains were still at the hotel.

  3. The two of you are the very definition of ignorant. I doubt few people will remember either of you when you pass on.

Very sad loss. Maybe she can finally R.I.P.

  4. Whitney was one of the greatest voices of all time. Her talent and musical contributions will be missed for eternity.

  5. TMZ's most recent report says she was found in the bathtub.
It's very sad, but her death means a drop in the price of crack as there will now be an oversupply in the LA area.

  6. I still hope he dies. The next "friend" of mine that tries to force one of his "movies" on me is getting his teeth punched down his throat.

  9. You mean you're chanting OCD rituals to an imaginary superbeing that doesn't actually exist? Why didn't you ask it to MAKE HER STOP SMOKING CRACK.

  14. Anon @ whenever - she had no "musical contributions", she was a singer.

I wasn't a Whitney fan but don't deny her talent. Keep in mind the many true artists on the Arista label who's careers were shelved and undermined because they weren't "crossover"able enough for a $. Whitney was made to re-do some songs because they "sounded too black". Some of those ARTISTS lives were cut short too. Clive Davis adored her auntie/cousin whoever, Dionne Warwick. Whitney was "connected" - very well.

Now my co-worker is in here in a hissy fit about how Bobby Brown ruined her, blah, blah. My response? "Well, then that was one weak black woman" (of who are supposedly beyond any type of influencing by ANYBODY). No woman in my family of Western European lineage would let ANY man turn them into a crack addict.

She was talented in many peoples opinions. I agree, but not a fan of hers. Keep it real. She was a crossover success (that Clive was known to search for and transform for money), was connected and in the right place at the right time. She literally "sold her soul".

My thoughts have been affirmed by many in the music business and our discussions on Facebook this past weekend.

A true tradgedy in many aspects.

  15. It just takes one hit sometimes and you are addicted. Bobby Brown introduced her to it. He was always a loser IMHO. She was his meal ticket. Getting clean & sober is a hard thing to do. Staying clean & sober is much harder to do. Alcohol & drugs are everywhere, including prescription drugs. All the tough love in the world can't do that for someone, they have to want to do it for themselves.

I was a huge fan, Who doesn't want to get up and dance when they hear "I wanna dance with someone"?. This is very sad and tragic.

  16. But bottom line the death will be ruled "accidental" even though her bloodstream was filled with Vicodin, crack, alcohol, Nyquil, Xanax, amphetamines and marijuana.

It was a suicide. She couldn't deal with being shunned at the Grammys. Black suicide is finally being acknowledged in mainstream media at this time. It's long overdue. They don't do that though, ya know.

More important and talented people have lost their lives. I'm sorry about Whitney but 4 people immediately contacted me to spread the word. "Oh well" was my text response. And the people in the music industry all over FB tooting their own horn stating they are "shocked". Beyond comical. This has been coming for YEARS.

  17. As I stated, so far it has been reported to be Xanax, "other prescription drugs" and alcohol.

She was fighting with people at a pre-Grammy party, doing handstands at a pool, erratic and left with "something running down her leg".

    Absolutely out of control.

These "divas" being "idol"ized these days need to take tips from Nancy Wilson on what her secret was to record 50+ albums throughout her career, live beyond 70 years of age with grace, class and style - and not act a selfish fool.

  18. "That photo looks like a rampaging gorilla."

Of course it does. That's why the AIDS-infected moron who runs this blog placed it there. He is a lonely gay with a terrible disease. He is thrilled that Whitney died. Though, his very own life remains in shambles. That's the life of Chicago gays. Total mess.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I have no problem with the gays. I do have a problem with the eeeking and oooking jungle savage spooks. It was the African blacks who started AIDS by having sex with monkeys. So don't blame AIDS on gays.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Blacks started AIDS? That's a new one.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It's true that aids started in africa. The bone-thru-the-nose jungle savages regularly have sex with monkeys because they look just like their girlfriends. The virus was accquired from the monkeys and then passed onto people.

  23. If you are older than 35, you know that Whitney was the best singer of her time (the mid-80's to early 90's). Its sad that she had problems and died too soon.

I remember when we had Whitney Houston and Michael Jordan as the most famous black celebrities. They were far better than the crap we have today.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Back when Whitney, The Cosby Show, Michael Jackson, all that crap was big, I didn't have the deep burning hatred for blacks like I do now.
Everything they do now is hostile and hateful, I wish Tyler Perry would choke on a dick and die.

  25. towanda,

You're making excuses for Whitney. Both Whitney and Jennifer Holiday have mentioned Whitney's drug abuse, which Whitney initiated, way before meeting Bobby. :(

Having not been born on drugs, Whitney chose to be an addict, starting with illegal drugs. Later on, prescription drugs were added to the mix, via Whitney's "doctors". Mostly like, the prescription drug scenario was similar to Michael Jackson's. :(
