Teen girl shot in Pres. Obama's Kenwood neighborhood

A 16-year-old girl was shot in Chicago's South Side, Kenwood neighborhood, reports the Chicago Tribune.

The Friday 4:05 p.m. shooting occurred on the 4800 block of South Drexel Boulevard.

That puts the crime scene about two blocks west and three blocks north of President Obama's home on the 5000 block of South Grenwood Avenue.

The teen, who was shot in the left thigh, was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

A Chicago Fire Department official said the shooting victim was in serious condition.

An officer at the scene said the girl appeared to be in good condition.

After the shooting, a black SUV was seen leaving the scene.

  1. There is too much subsidised housing in this area. We have to price out the babymamas, and the families that host them. Gentrification is too slow in this area. I live in this area and have bought some buildings to help the area, but other landlords aren't as picky as me beacause they don't live here.

  2. There is too much subsidized housing all over the city. The nigger baby mamas are breeding their niglets all over. It was better when they were all caged in the housing projects that they destroyed before being moved to the neighborhoods.

  3. It just makes no sense to me that the government will pay rent to private landlords for welfare recepients. Private landowners should NOT be receiving those types of payments. Recepients of welfare for housing should be kept together in developments owned by the city, you know, like housing projects!

Keep them all in a few small areas. Call it ghettoization if you want, but it makes far more sense to me to keep the high crime welfare recepients in a few small pockets, then to try to spread them evenly throughout the city. And take away the incentive for private landowners to "rent" space to them by getting the payments from the government. Absolutely no reason someone should be able to profit by renting out housing to the government, which is what Section 8 does.

  4. While the nerve of you folks!! I can't believe the stuff that is coming out of your mouths’, didn't know that I had racist folks right in my backyard but I guess I do. I've lived in Hyde Park all my life and there is not a lot of subsidized housing in my area. But there has been an increase in the selling of GUNS. Haven't you folks been paying attention to the statistics regarding the sales of firearms. That’s the problem that needs to be addressed!!! In my opinion, I don't believe there is anything wrong with helping the less fortunate? Everybody wasn't born with a silver spoon in their mouths... You guys sound just like that man who stated "I don't care about the very poor." That's shameful. I'm just going to pray for you all. That's all I can do. Not a damn thing. I think if we had more people out here like me, this city would be a better place.
