A girl, presumed to be a student at a North Side elementary school, was robbed in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood, said police.
The girl’s brother dialed 911 after his sister’s backpack was snatched on the 800 block of West Waveland Avenue, near Waveland and Fremont, around 4:45 p.m., said police.
According to police dispatch, the incident happened in front of the Inter-American Magnet School at 851 West Waveland.
The offender is a male black in his teens or early 20s.
The thief, who was described as tall and thin, was wearing a black, waist-length jacket and all black clothing.
The suspect was last seen running westbound on Waveland, said authorities.
The stolen book bag is blue and red with orange squares.
Police checked the nearby Red Line stations at Sheridan and Addison, but the punk was nowhere to be found.

Great! Now these black bastards are targeting little children! I'd like to see one of you mentally-slow bitches defend this asshole!
ReplyDeleteClearly the young male black is a student there--mid 20s in elementary school, sounds bout right. He thought the victim grabbed his backpack by mistake. LMAO
ReplyDeleteThis is no laughing matter, but that was funny as hell!
ReplyDeleteInstant, on the spot Judge Dredd-style execution for offenders who harm children.
ReplyDeleteThe Center on Halsted is right there. That place attracts nigggers and encourages their behavior. Try going to the lobby floor of that place sometime...it is like the monkey house at the zoo. They even openly whack off in public just like the gorillas.
ReplyDeleteI think CNR should do a little better here.
ReplyDeleteA 20 year old steals a child's backpack?!? For what reason? And why would an elementary school kid be walking home at 4:45pm. They don't have practice at that age.
Are we sure she wasn't in highschool which would make it more likely she had a cell phone?
Blaming CNR? Really?? All the CNR guy does is record police scanners in certain districts, and report what he recorded. If on this incident, someone ID'd as the brother of the victim made the call, and the brother & little girl provided a report to police when they showed up, I don't have a reason to dispute the info. Unlike Isaiah Thomas, the CPD is capable of determining whether someone is a little girl, or a teen to adult woman.
ReplyDeleteOr blaming the victim?? Come the F on. There are plenty of reasons an elementary age girl would be outside of her school at that hour - ever heard of, "After-school programs?" According to its website, that school MANDATES participation in after school programs. Not to mention that, that school is ONLY open to students in grades K-8, so the oldest age that students there should be is 14.
How about the black community do better and actually raise it's children and teach them right from wrong? Seriously, what person DOESN'T know that it is wrong to steal from a child??
Of course, to 857 am, it's a lot easier for you to blame CNR for reporting this - you probably believe that there wouldn't be any crime if this blog wasn't making info about it public.
And clearly you think it's appropriate to blame the victim here. That is an absurd, backwards mentality. By that logic, the flash mobs that plagued Chicago (and Milwaukee, and Atlanta, and Philadelphia, and Oakland, CA, and Houston, and St. Louis, and Minneapolis, and etc., etc., etc) last summer aren't the fault of the roving gangs of black youth that committed them, but rather, those enticing stores that sell nice things but actually expect someone to PAY for them, as opposed to giving handouts.
To 857 am, grow up. You're only slightly better than the likely career criminal that ripped off this little girl.
Oh also to 857 am - You ask, "Steal a child's backpack - for what reason?"
ReplyDeleteIDFK what specific reason some asshole would steal a child's backpack, but it's highly likely that he assumed it carried something of value that he could turn into money, if only even one dollar. It could have had some type of electronics in it, like an ipad or cell phone, or it could have had a little bit of money.
But either way, WHY does it matter why that animal stole her bag? All that matters is that he did. You don't get a pass for stealing something that turned out to have no value. Stealing is stealing. And he likely targeted the little girl because, well, what's an easier target than a little girl?
Big Al calm down and start thinking. Um, no one blamed CNC....just said do better. You have to stop being so stupid you're making your gender look bad.
ReplyDeleteTt matters because otherwise the story is made up. It matters because if it doesn't make sense something is being reported wrong.
Theifs steal because they want something that can be used or converted to money. So, it makes a lot of sense to ask "why a childs backpack".
The logical answer is it was a teenager not a child. Doesn't make it better but makes for an accurate story.
Um, everyone knows it wrong, even the person stealing it. Why do you do things that are wrong? Really, you have to ask?
My bets are on the tax funded Center On Halsted too. Some lady wanted to show me an apartment right about......THERE. Looked real nice from the pictures (actually seemed underpriced for the updates) but after giving me the address and walking by.....no thank you! (I'm sure it was one of the units backing to the alley where they reportedly leave their condoms). Some recent transplant will take it and we'll have a new blogger on CNR shortly after they put the first roll of toilet paper on the dispenser.
ReplyDeleteI still cant believe that asian kid that was beaten up had Nikes and $180 on him. an all the fools waving their expensive IPODS on the CTA.
ReplyDeleteTo yesterday at 10:06 am - first, thanks for the personal insults & accusations of me making a gender look bad. I appreciate your maturity.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I was calling out your passive-aggressive manner for criticizing the reporting done here on CNR. Clearly, you don't believe this happened - you said it must have been made up, or faulty reporting, if CNR cannot also provide a reason for the theft.
Like I stated, and you regurgitated, thieves steal because they believe that they are getting something of value, usually something that can be converted to cash (if it isn't cash). It is not uncommon for children to have electronics like iPods, small handheld games, or even cell phones, that these criminals can sell for a few dollars to a store in their neighborhoods. But even though we both agree that we understand the reason for street level theft, you feel it's necessary to call out CNR for not providing a motive? Really??
Also, looks like we both agree that stealing is wrong. So as far as I can tell, there is only one person in this discussion that doesn’t agree with us – the late teens/early 20’s black man who stole from a girl.
the offender was probably a classmate, blacks rarely graduate school while still in their teens
ReplyDeleteblack people suck
