At approximately 7:03 p.m., a citizen reported a woman screaming for help in an alley near the 1000 block of West Balmoral Avenue, between Sheridan Road and Kenmore Avenue.
According to investigators, the offender tried to force the female victim into her car at knifepoint.
When he couldn’t get the victim to comply with his demands, the suspect tried to take the woman’s car keys, said an officer at the scene.
Eventually, the frustrated bandit fled the scene empty-handed, said police.
The knife-wielding suspect is a male black in his 30s, about 5’10”, and 180 to 200 pounds.
The offender was wearing a dark-colored hooded jacket or a hooded sweatshirt.
After the incident, the culprit ran westbound on Balmoral Avenue.
At time of this report, the suspect was still at large.

ReplyDeleteYeah, it's a true shame that when walking over to the east for a peaceful waterfront stroll from the overhyped, fancy "village by the lake" those last two blocks are ghetto heaven.
