Around 7:14 p.m., police responded to a shots fired call on the 1000 block of West Wilson Avenue.
According to police dispatch, a bullet went through the window at Uptown Pizza & Barbecue, 1031 West Wilson Avenue.
Investigators described the shooter as a 17-year-old black male wearing all black clothing.
An eyewitness inside the restaurant told Chicago News Report there were 7 to 8 customers inside when the shooting occurred.
“The bullet broke the window, but it never came inside, because it hit a piece of wood,” said the witness. “Otherwise, who knows what would have happened.”
According to our tipster, there were several young, black males in their 20s and 30s inside the eatery when the gunman opened fire.
Our source believes one of the customers was the gunman’s target.
