Saturday, at approximately 8:04 a.m., an armed robber held up the Subway sandwich shop at 1020 West Belmont Avenue, near Belmont and Kenmore, said police.
The gunman was described as a clean-shaven black man wearing a black winter cap with fur, a black jacket with a black hooded sweatshirt underneath, and blue jeans.
The suspect is believed to be in his 30s, approximately 5’9” to 6-feet-tall, and around 200 pounds.
The stickup man was last seen going northbound on Sheffield from Belmont Avenue.
Investigators said the armed robbery was caught on tape.
The thief reportedly got away with $2000.
This is getting ridiculous. We can't go out in the morning and 8am is not early morning, and we can't go out at night. When is it safe to go out and not be a victim of black crime? It seems like the only occupation blacks have is criminal.

ReplyDeleteThe question is....what is your city (with these taxes, fees and out-of-whack housing prices), your police, the "Alderman" (who's office is located basically right next door to this Subway), the businesses raking in our $$ (that could care less about our safety) doing about this? Other than food for myself at the grocery store, food for my dog and getting my haircut, I have boycotted all other businesses.
The only solution I see at this time to at least cut-down on the crime is to shut that Red Line down at 9:00pm. I have no use for it after 6:00. Bus service capacity can be increased with a special pass stamped by employers that those using it are coming/going to work.
And while many in the "neighbor"hood are content in thinking that "crime slows down during the winter", I disagree. I've been in Chicago long enough to know that around the Holidays is when it's rampant.

Also DNA has nothing to do with it...that's the problem with Lakeview to busy trying to judge people based on color of their skin when Crime has no race or gender it's just CRIME! WAKE UP!

Blacks also "judge" the Whites in Lakeview. Blacks also "judge" the Whites in the Loop. Gays also "judge" other gays in Lakeview. (I wasn't one of the "ignorant" posters you referred to above but am one of the others). Quite frankly, I think you're ignorant if you're blind to the fact that this is 98% black-on-white. Unfortunately, race IS a factor in these crimes but I left that aside for sake of argument - until now.

About 6'6", late 40's/50 yelling "Whatcha' gonna do, what y'all gon dun DO?!!!". Staggering/swaggering across the street, blocking traffic and "us". They need 24/7 police at that corner at this point.

WOW, so glad I don't live in Chicago anymore! Not with all these Blacks hanging out in the North side robbing and causing problems. Pretty sad that the Gorillas in Lincoln Park zoo probably have better manners and a higher IQ than them! Chicago needs to segregate again-- White in the North and Blacks in the South.
