On Wednesday, December 14, 2011, around 11:07 p.m., an attempted burglary was reported on the 1700 block of West Belmont Avenue, near Belmont and Paulina.
Preliminary information suggested the would-be intruder tried to enter through a back door.
The suspect was described as a male white in his 30s, approximately 6-feet-tall.
The offender was last seen wearing a Green Bay Packers stocking cap and a denim jacket.
The suspect may have been wearing a hooded sweatshirt underneath his coat, said police.
A guy entering through the backdoor in Lakeview isn't unheard of. Every time I'm there someone tries to get in.
