Auburn Gresham neighborhood: Shooting on Paulina Ave.
Authorities are investigating a shooting in Chicago’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood on the city’s South Side, said police.
Around 3:20 a.m., police verified there was a shooting on the 7800 block of South Paulina Avenue, near Paulina and West 78th Street.
A responding officer said a male victim was shot once in the left side, and possibly in his right side.
After the shooting, a male black in the company of a female black, broke into an occupied apartment at 7802 South Paulina, ran through the apartment, and out the back door, said investigators.
The male offender was described as tall and bald, and his female companion was wearing pink hot pants.
Police found a female’s Nike gym shoe on the back porch of the invaded apartment.
At the time of this report, authorities were interviewing possible eyewitnesses.
