Edgewater: Shooting reported near Broadway
Shots were reportedly fired in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood late Monday evening.
On November 14, 2011, around 11:31 p.m., citizens reported gunshots on the 6100 block of North Broadway.
After the alleged shots were fired, an eyewitness saw two male blacks on a moped going northbound on Broadway.
A second eyewitness saw a white Oldsmobile going in the same direction, immediately following the suspected gunfire.
A third tipster reported a male black running westbound on the 1200 block of West Hood Street. The 911 caller said the subject stopped running and started walking at a slower pace, when police passed him by.
After receiving the tip, police stopped the subject near the intersection of Hood and Glenwood Avenues.
An officer ran the subject’s name through the police database.
As of Tuesday, 12:08 a.m., there was no indication that an arrest was made, nor were there any reports of injuries or property damage.

I was just there when this shooting happen...i think the police should keep an eye out at the CJs Restaurant on Broadway...that place draws some shady people sometimes
ReplyDeleteI heard those gunshots and called 911. There were about 10-12 shots and it sounded like a gun battle. 11:25 at night and they're protecting "their" turf...from each other. What a total bunch of loser parasites. At least it wasn't in broad daylight this time with mothers and their children out on the sidewalks.
ReplyDeleteThe cops showed up so fast, literally the first car was there less then a minute after the last shot was fired. I counted about 15 squad cars filtering around the area. Their response was super fast and greatly appreciate by this resident
ReplyDeleteI was outside of the Pumping Company smoking with a friend when this happened. The car that I was standing next to was shot. It was definitely a drive-by but I didn't see the vehicle because I had already dove inside the building. I assume it was coming from the car as I don't believe the police, who got there in less than 30 seconds, found any bullet casings.
ReplyDeleteThis is true - my Honda Fit was the one shot. They found one casing in the middle of the road next to my car, so the shooter was definitely mobile.
