Cops: Man reports Uptown robbery 2 hours later, battery victim at Belmont station was robbed on Near North Side
Early Wednesday morning, two alleged robberies were reported several minutes apart -- one in Uptown and the other at a North Side train station.
At 3:47 a.m., a man reported a robbery at Broadway and Buena in Chicago’s Buena Park, Uptown neighborhood.
The alleged victim said a male black offender robbed him at gunpoint.
It’s unclear if the alleged armed robbery occurred at Broadway and Buena, or if that’s where the alleged victim met with the police.
The purported suspect was wearing a brown jacket and a brown stocking cap with a bill.
After speaking with the alleged victim, a responding officer said the alleged robbery happened two hours ago, around 1:47 a.m.
Approximately 2 minutes later, around 3:49 a.m., police and paramedics responded to a battery victim at the Belmont train station at 945 West Belmont Avenue.
At 3:53 p.m., an officer at the scene said the battery happened during a robbery at West Chicago Avenue and North State Street, on the city's Near North Side.
Information regarding the alleged offender was not disclosed.
Authorities checked the police call logs, but there was no indication anyone had reported a crime near Chicago and State, during the time the robbery supposedly occurred.
According to one source, police escorted the victim home, but the victim refused to file a police report.

Oh my gosh the robber was black.
ReplyDeleteI know, total shocker.
ReplyDeleteYa know!
ReplyDeleteWho are these IDIOTS who refuse to file police reports?! Grow up Chicago.
ReplyDeleteit has got really bad around Chicago n State, never ending pile of S..t people hanging around. AT night when cops are needed, they are simply not around. Filing a police report is not as simple as telling the officer what happened. EVERY time i have had to deal with police because someone did something to me, robbed me, raped me, they made it hard to file a police report. You are already going thru shit at tht time, so you can't fight the police too. Then, they lost the police report...all you got is the little piece of paper with whatever They Wrote, not what you told them happened. I have kept those bits of paper for 15 years, to cover my ass in case my rapist decides to return. Such is life. You pick your ass up, and keep going...
ReplyDeleteWhat Im saying is, when you are victimized, the cops Dont Make it easy to file a police report. Its nothing like SUV. Its an uphill battle All the Way...even a simple robbery of a plastic bag that had your house keys.....the cop refused to take a report and said "why did you put your bag down?" and was aggressive with me. So just how do you get a police report? Its quite difficult...and an aggressive unpleasant cop is not helpful, after you have experienced this several times, in much more difficult situations, like rape or beating, you just give up. That is partly why people dont bother to file police reports. Its too difficult.
ReplyDeletedo you think that young very drunk woman who was 'escorted home' by two cops who then repeatedly raped her in her apartment, (she said she became afraid of them when they entered her home) is Ever going to file a police report if she is robbed on a sunny day at a train station?
ReplyDeleteDo you trust the cops in any way?? I KNOW I am extremely uncomfortable with them even Near my home, after my own experiences...
So you file a police report and see it thru, for a simply mugging/robbery...time consuming, your word is questioned and No One is ever convicted...
Around the Chicago red line are the scumbags at the Lawson YMCA, fucking losers scamming disability and other welfare fraud. They're all genetically programmed to loiter and beg, no matter what color they are.
ReplyDeleteIf somebody asks you for money, chances are pretty good they've got the hookup with a mental health agency.
