Boystown burglary on Melrose Street
A Boystown, Lakeview neighborhood burglary victim came face to face with the man who just moments before their brief encounter, broke into her North Side home, said police.
Around 1 p.m., a burglary occurred in the middle of the 600 block of West Melrose Street.
According to police dispatch, the burglary victim passed the thief as she was entering her apartment building and the suspect was leaving the crime scene.
When the victim reached her dwelling, she realized she had been burglarized and that her laptop was missing, said police.
Authorities said the victim also came to the conclusion that the man she passed on the way to her apartment, was the same man who broke into her home.
The offender was described as a male Hispanic, about 5’8” to 5’10”.
The suspect was wearing a dark blue baseball cap, dark-colored jacket, and dark-colored jeans.
He was last seen carrying a tan, burlap-like Whole Foods Market bag from London, which he apparently stole from the victim’s apartment. The bag may be similar to the one in the photograph.
The offender was last seen walking eastbound on Melrose Street.

Anyone that actually looks at crime trends knows this is fact but PC activists will characterize fact as hyperbole and scream racism. Basically the rule still applies quite consistently. If you see a black or hispanic male, be wary of them no matter where you are or what time of the day it is. Go figure. There's a reason little old ladies cross the street.
ReplyDeleteWhile you're away at work, "they're" working too!
ReplyDeleteSay "hello" to them and give them $2 if you can (but hope you don't get punched because it "wasn't enough".
If you have the time, protest at the 7-11 @ Broadway/Barry - where all the cops are at any time of day or night.
She probably "deserved" it though. She "deserved" it for leaving her home unattended while at work. Shame on her!
