West Ridge: Shooting on Oakley Avenue


At 2:33 a.m., gunshots were reported on the 6300 block of North Oakley Avenue, near Oakley and Rosemont, in Chicago’s West Ridge, West Rogers Park neighborhood.

A split second later, it was confirmed a man was shot at 6356 North Oakley Avenue.

An officer at the scene said the man was shot underneath his arm.

Investigators said shots were fired from a silver Acura, driven by two black male suspects.

The shooting victim was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois.
