Uptown: Woman robbed at knifepoint near Montrose and Hazel


Tuesday, October, 25, 2011, a woman was robbed at knifepoint near the Pensacola Place Apartment building in Uptown, said police.

The armed robbery occurred around 11:30 p.m. on the 4300 block of North Hazel Street, near Montrose and Hazel, said investigators.

Authorities said two offenders approached the woman, brandished a knife, and stole several items.

One offender is a male Asian with a shaved head or closely cropped hair. He was last seen wearing a brown or beige jacket and glasses.

The second suspect is a male black with a dark complexion and an Afro. He was wearing a dark-colored, hooded sweatshirt.

Both offenders are approximately 5’4” and about 18-years-old.

The thieves were last seen going southbound on Hazel, then westbound on Cullom Avenue.

UPDATE: Around 1:28 a.m., a second female victim was robbed at knifepoint on the city's North Side.

Unfortunately, CNR wasn't able to get the address of occurrence.

However, police described the offenders as two male blacks and an Asian male.

The suspects fled the scene in a gray or tan Impala, said police.

  3. The guy only had a knife, if she had a gun she could have put him where he belong. CONCEAL TO CARRY IN ILLIOIS NOW!! Vistit the website and find out how u can get thisthing passed.
    Things are only going to get worse people. Everyday the state of illinois releases thousands of criminals who have no job options when they get out. They aren't going to just stay on the south side. They are going to go where the prey is the easiest and the finacial payoffs are the highest.
