Woman sexually assaulted in downtown Streeterville neighborhood

A woman was sexually assaulted in Chicago’s Streeterville neighborhood, said police.

Authorities said the woman was attacked in front of the Dominick’s food store at 255 East Grand Avenue, near Grand and Fairbanks Court, around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A male black offender approached the woman from behind, grabbed her in a sexually manner, and tried to pull her closer to him, said police.

Investigators said potential witnesses were present when the “sexual assault” occurred.

The suspect is in his late 20s or early 30s, 5’10” to 6-feet-tall, with a clean-cut appearance. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a black hooded sweatshirt that zipped in the front.

Police are checking Dominick’s security cameras for clues.

  1. Lakefront Liberals Section 8. It's biting them in the ass right now. One is almost chasing me down the street to contribute to his tax free income source. He knows to stay away now. Call up Tyrone (ooops, I mean Obama).

    He was black? No way!

  2. If the Mayor can't get crime under control and the state won't let its people lawfully conceal carry then this will force another "white flight" from the city. These things go in cycles and truth be told with home prices in the suburbs at all time low's we are probably overdue.

  3. These obviously unemployed derelict type people are always hanging about the north side and Loop looking for opportunities to steal from or harass the average citizen. It would be nice to be able to get rid of that filth in some way. People shouldn't have to look over their shoulder all the time.

Last time Jimmy John's had the dollar sub thing one of my least favorite was f**king with everybody in line, I lectured him on all the homeless shelters he could have gotten help and Section 8 from, he was full of excuses, and some morons bought him subs and gave him change..
He's the one that stands near the Garrett on State near the Jackson Red Line stop. Same line, 9-10 hours a day "Help a guy get himself something to eat".

  6. CONCEAL TO CARRY IN ILLIOIS NOW!! Vistit the website and find out how u can get thisthing passed.
Things are only going to get worse people. Everyday the state of illinois releases thousands of criminals who have no job options when they get out. They aren't going to just stay on the south side. They are going to go where the prey is the easiest and the finacial payoffs are the highest.

  7. Funny how every single one of the reports here in the past six months involving crime on the north side involve male blacks. Is that racial profiling? NO, it's reality. Why doesn't this reach the press? They report blacks killing blacks on the south and west sides, but never crime in the northside neighborhood. Why? Because they don't want to be accused of profiling instead of reporting the facts. Idiots. So, we have to face these crimes in silence. Without the media to put pressure on the politicians in this city, we'll never get police support to help fight this epidemic.

What we really need is the ability to defend ourselves. Politicians have made laws to prohibit law-abiding citizens from arming themselves against these crooks. Why? Because they don't care. They can carry weapons. They have bodyguards paid by our tax dollars. Crime is something they watch on TV from their guarded homes.

In other cities where citizens can legally arm themselves, crime has dropped. None of those cities has turned into the wild west. Instead, criminals know they could get shot robbing people and are wary of the public.

Not in Chicago. We're all sheep in a pack of hungry wolves. The bad guys are all armed and fearless. Meanwhile, police tell us to arm ourselves with keys and nail files. As much as I support our police, there is simply not enough of them to guard the citizenry. They can only count the bodies and take worthless police reports after the crime has happened.

Every state in the USA has some form of concealed carry EXCEPT Illinois. Iowa, Missouri, Indiana, and now even Wisconsin allows their law abiding citizens to arm themselves against crime. Crime drops in areas where the citizens are armed. It's going UP in Illinois. Why? Guess where all the criminal are going?

It's our right to defend ourselves. Call or write your state representatives to get concealed carry passed in Illinois. Don't let these idiotic, self-serving politicians continue to put your life, and the lives of your loved ones, in danger.

  8. I grew up in a white flight and after a white flight my parents never moved in the 90s when it happened on the South West Side. Every day was an horror and let's just say it was hard even to get an education since every day was more about survival then learning.

I sometimes think how much my life would be different if my parents just moved with everyone else is in the 90s instead of just staying.

The happy hyperactive kid turned into a quiet loner whose friends all moved away and whose best friend turned out to be his room. I am an adult now with kids of my own and I'll never put them through that shit.
